$1,200,000 Settlement – Assisted Living Fall Wrongful Death Case
Our office represented the family of a woman who suffered at least six falls at an assisted living facility in Union City, CA.
What Happened
Throughout the litigation, SGG Law learned the Facility failed to implement any fall prevention interventions or re-assess the patient.
Even as the elder’s health continued to deteriorate and their care needs were no longer appropriate for assisted living, the Facility failed to transfer the resident to a higher level of care.
As a result, the elder suffered another severe fall which resulted in a fractured leg and tailbone. The injuries led to a decline in the patient’s health and eventual death.
Outcome
SGG Law secured a $1,200,000 settlement for the family.
