$2,429,999 Settlement – Dehydration and Malnutrition Wrongful Death Case

SGG Law obtained a $2,429,999 settlement for a wrongful death case for the family of an elder admitted to a Skilled Nursing Facility in Oakland, CA.

What Happened

The decedent had dementia and needed assistance with food and fluid intake, and as the decedent became increasingly dehydrated, multiple dangerous lab results were ignored and the resident was not sent to the hospital until it was too late.

The elder died as a result of entirely preventable malnutrition and severe dehydration caused by the Facility’s neglect and negligence.
