The California Elder Abuse and Dependent Adult Civil Protection Act (EADACPA) is one of the strongest protective frameworks in the United States. It grants seniors (adults aged 65 and older) and dependent adults the right to be free from physical harm, systemic neglect, abandonment, financial scams, and isolation. Crucially, EADACPA allows for enhanced legal remedies, including the recovery of attorney’s fees and pain and suffering damages, even if the victim passes away before the trial concludes.
