Assisted living facilities generally provide help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, meals, medication assistance, and supervision. Nursing homes provide a higher level of medical care. However, assisted living facilities still have a responsibility to assess residents, provide appropriate care, maintain safe conditions, and transfer residents to a higher level of care when their needs exceed what the facility can safely provide.
